Notes from Application:
-
Note A: We ask that you have three people send
letters of recommendation for you. The most difficult part of
submitting a complete application is getting persons to send in the
recommendations for you. Once you have selected the people you wish
to send in these letters, then do the following:
-
Stamp and address an envelope to this office for each
person you wish to send in a recommendation. Write, in ink, on
the back of each envelope "Please mail before April 23".
-
Ask each of them to please send in a recommendation
for you. Show them the date on the back of the envelope.
Tell them the recommendation should be mailed on or before that
date. Then give each person one of the envelopes.
-
The words "Flynn Foundation" should
be part of the salutation, or in the first or second line of the
recommendation letters.
-
These letters must be sent separately from the
application.
-
Note B: If the applicant has completed one or
more years of college, send only the transcript and test (SAT, ACT,
or other entrance examination) scores from the college(s)
attended. Grade and test information, from the high school,
will NOT be needed.
-
Note C: The college financial aid
package could be a copy of the filled in Free Application for
Federal Student Aid. If you have not completed one of these
Free Applications, then you should send a statement of your income,
including family support, and how much is committed to responsibilities,
other than school expenses. Include document(s). Please
enclose a sheet, or sheets, from the college showing both
cost and college help.
-
Note D: In order to be considered for the coming year,
all applications must be in the office of the Fundation Secretary
on or before May 1 for the Spring Selection Committee Meeting.
Letters notifying applicants of Committee decisions will be mailed
on or before June 25.
-
Note E: This application must be completed personally by the
applicant.
